Light helper unit near Dunsmuir Winter of 1967

A helper locomotive returns to Dunsmuir after helping an eastward train to Grass Lake. I had been in the jungles of South America for two years doing photos for my Uncle Sam so the snow was a welcome sight.

I didn't know we had troops in South America back in '67.  That beats the jungles of Vietnam where our "Uncle" sent me for a couple of years.

Look how short those trees are. I bet you can't see around the curve now at that location.
