A Routine Day at San Bernardino
Author: TheNavigator

Thirty years ago, it was an uneventful weekend day with clear skies and low winter sun angles.  We may not have known it at the time, but everything except for the mountains in the background in these shots is gone.  (Both photos taken during November, 1988.)

Thanks for looking,
GK

1.  B36-7 7486 and SD45-2 5820 in SPSF non-merger paint, plus SD45 5384 are tied down next to the former UP "squarehouse" just off Rialto Ave.  Santa Fe power could often be found here during the weekends.  (The shadow to the left is from the squarehouse itself.)

2.  Sidelit for sure, but I thought still worth an exposure on K64, SF30C 9564 and SDF40-2 5267 lead two more yellowbonnets eastbound past the west end of the San Bernardino depot.

Being an old "San Bernardino Boy" myself, I always appreciate pictures of the way it used to be back there.

Great look back! You can really see the RCE antennas on the #7486.
