Train 1-919 arriving at Watsonville Jct in 1960. The man with the white shirt is my Dad who drove me down from SF for a Sunday of rail fanning, He was wandering around picking up old train orders that were scattered all over. Suddenly a voice was heard over the yard loudspeaker stating "Sir we usually issue a stick with a nail on it for that kind of work". You had to love the old SP.

Great photo Bob, I wish Watsonville still looked like that. Nowadays, they say "Sir, the police have been notified..." 🙄

Lots of interesting details - the water tank, distant locomotive equipped with SP's barrel headlights, motorcar setout and the elevated battery box.

Also the not too common low nose Geep, with footboards, Gyra light and turned off, Train number in number boards, old style line pole with old style insulator, old style transformer on next pole line over, 40ft boxcars and on and on...
