This view is east from the hump and T&P's Lancaster which will be renamed Centennial Yard when rebuilt in about 1976.  The initial hump controller still sits on top of the walk bridge (left).  He gets first crack at the speed of cars coming off the hump into the first retarder.  Note on the right side the old bowl tracks have been re-configured for flat switching while new bowl switches are located and installed.  The left bowl is still in operation.

The walk bridge nearly always had someone on it taking pictures.  It no longer exists as the building it connected to was torn down.

Wow, it sure looks a lot different now.  During this rebuilding, is this when the hump was reduced to a single track hump (looks like a double track hump (or was) in this photo)?

Hunter Harrison would've loved this photo; a hump yard turned into a flat switched yard (well, at least temporarily in this case)!

Yes, it was a double hump and was changed to a single hump in the rebuilding.
