Bruce was fortunate to nail the coal train on the lightly used Aspen Branch.  Likely up visiting his brother in Carbondale, Colorado.

In 1978 I traveled that road and ran on to two GP-40's and a  caboose going south.  I guess to Carbondale.

Thanks for sharing the photo!

That's the first time I've seen a 6 axle locomotive on the line in photos. I always thought the track was not heavy enough for an SD unit, especially an SD-45.
