Nostalgia & History > Maroon Monday - Limon, Colo., Where the Rockets WedDate: 01/07/19 19:32 Maroon Monday - Limon, Colo., Where the Rockets Wed Author: Englewood From the July, 1953 issue of The Rock Island News Digest.
Digitized by the fine people at Google Books Nothing to be learned from this old time, outdated, style of railroading. Except, perhaps, how to combine two trains in 15 minutes - without radios. Hotel page 5 right side in the pic, when i worked for C&LC before kansas bought the line to Limon, the Hotel in the background was damaged by a tornado in 1991? was razed, neat place! In the final photo some of those elevators also were hit by the twister, and were raised, the storm grabbed some fertilzer trucks and tanks from the coop, creating a haz mat situation.
