NJT GG! Fan Trip

Fan trips comemorating the retirement of the G's in NJT service October 29, 1983. Number 4877 repainted into Pennsy colors. The loco was nicknamed "Big Red"
First crossing the Raritan Bay northbound Perth Amboy, NJ
Second entering South Amboy
Last nortbound at the station in Perth Amboy.

I have a vague recollection that there was discussion in the 1980s about  the color on 4877, whether it was "too purple".  And whether the Keystone logo should be much larger.   PRR used both a large and a small version on the G motors.

Was the 4877 cleaning and repainting financed by Jersey Central Chapter NRHS?
