F unit Friday - EL 7131
Author: refarkas

Have you ever wondered what the engineer was thinking?
My guess is that EL 7131 and its train had made a pickup or setout in the Akron, Ohio yard this late 1960's/early 1970's day, and the engineer was waiting for permission to back up to the rest of his train that was waiting in the EL yard behind him.

Looks like the classic hurry up and wait shot. You are my go to EL guy! Never get tired of my favorite road of all time.

He's yelling back to the operator, "What do you mean by this order?"

Great photo.  It brtings back good memories.  That old Buick window regulator hardware made it easier and more fun to hang out the window of the old EMD cab units.  I miss it.  It's not as easy today to hang out of a 70Ace.
