Not Many GE's Like This

I always like the smootrh lines and one piece windshield of the early GE U25 series of road switchers. I never photographed many but here are a few of those photos.
1976 Allentown, Pa wesdtbound just after the startup of Conrail
PC Enola Yard westend in 1971
Last photo at Buttonwood Yard near Wilkes-Barre, Pa 10 days before Hurricana Agnes in June 1972

Well, maybe not that rare, SP and Santa Fe had a bunch of U25B's with the one piece windshields too.

One of my favorite GE U Boats. Always looked for them when I was out and about. FYI for those who don't know, 2500 series U25B's were all ex NYC, 2600-2659 were ex PRR and the 2660-2685 were all ex NH ex 2500's on the NH.  Thanks for sharing. Ben

The engineer on the 2600 is going to have that long 16 notch throttle pokeing him in the belly by the time he gets notched out..

Thanks for sharing, I always though the U25B in the New York Central scheme was pretty sharp.

The Orange Empire RR Museum in Perris, CA, has an operating U25B with the one piece windsheld.
