Nostalgia & History > CGW McKeen Motorcar 1000 -- Walt DunlapDate: 01/11/19 16:21 CGW McKeen Motorcar 1000 -- Walt Dunlap Author: MartyBernard The Chicago Great Western bought three 70 foot McKeen Motorcars. Yes, McKeens, but not Wind Splitters. Walt found one to photograph, #1000. She was built in 1910 with 300 hp and rebuilt in 1929 as the motor car of the "Blue Bird." See https://mckeencar.com/gallery/c/chicago-great-western-railway/ which is a page of the web site of The McKeen Motor Car Company Historical Society. They also have a Facebook page.
1 and 2. CGW McKeen Motorcar 1000 at Winnona, MN on June 24, 1962. The next two slides are very under exposed and I am not at all happy with the color of the car. 3 and 4. CGW Mckeen Motor Car 1000 at the Swift Plant, Winona, MN on December 4, 1963. That's the Mississippi River. Thanks, Marty Bernard Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 01/11/19 16:43 by MartyBernard.
