Like UP Centennial units? So do I ! 1978 and 1971...

Location :  Lake Point, Utah...south end of Great Salt Lake on old LA&SL Line...LA-Salt Lake
Camera: Exacta VX w 400mm Panzerfaust Lens

UP's 6904W...One of UP's premier Van trains (with a BN Caboose) westbound into the sun headed for L.A.

I just noticed I had shot the 6904 in DEN in April 1971...Thanks for looking...Stevie

With longer and longer trains and 2 or 3 mid-train DPUs getting more common, the idea of a two-engine locomotive makes a lot of sense.  Easy enough to add steerable trucks of course which would make them more acceptable.

Imagine if UP had kept their DD40's, and re-engined them with 710 engines....wow.
