No info on slide
Process date April, 1970

CV 4554 appears to be leading an eastbound GTW
over the Columbus Ave. (aka Southwest Highway) grade crossing in the Ashburn
neighborhood of Chicago.  The diamond crossing with the N&W ex-Wabash is behind the photographer.
Thanks to ghemr for correcting the location!

A friendly wave from the engineer.

Stand back !   He's coming through !!

Another excellent photo by Ken! However, the eastbound train has just crossed Columbus (SW Hwy) and is about to cross the N&W (Wabash) at Ashburn.

I will defer to your knowledge of the Ashburn area from back in the day.
I overlooked the two aspect home signal of the interlocking thinking it was part of the gate mechanism.
The next picture in the roll is of a brace of N&W geeps getting ready to head south on the Wabash at Ashburn so I will
go with that location.

I had picked Kedzie as the location because of the proximity to his house and the angle of the crossing

Ken labeled very few of his slides.  He knew where he took them but he took that knowledge with him.
If any of you have not labeled your slides, please get started.
