NYSW NTV-9, Conrail TV203 From the Cheap Seats

Made a trip at the end of October,1990 to Lanesboro, Pa. to shoot the morning westbound Doublestack trains on Starrucca Viaduct. I parked at Jeff Jct. and started hiking before daylight and made it to my seat just after daylight. After about a 45 minute wait the sound of K5 horns from Gulf Summit broke the silence. NYSW NTV-9 showed up first with a B40-8-B40-8-SD45-B40-8 lashup of yellow-jackets and mixed doublestack train with haulage freight on the rear. Following close behind was Conrail`s TV-203C with an SD50-C39-8-SD40-2 lashup sounding great coming over the arches in dynamics. The trip back down to the truck was much better than the trip up!

Spec-friggin-tacular! Wow, really brings the economic might represented by the traffic behind those units into perspective. Humbling and highly scenic, what a great view of a gorgeous bridge.
Thanks for the great effort capturing this and of course for posting it as well.

road Xing west of the viaduct plus they probably usually blow when their on the viaduct. i doubt they could see me up there.

i transferred them to dig. in 2010 so they did hold up well
