Nostalgia & History > 611 on home rails in Southern Ohio early 90'sDate: 03/14/19 18:53 611 on home rails in Southern Ohio early 90's Author: cabsignaldrop I believe these were taken in 1994, Dad and I chased this trip and the next day we road it. He was a car host. This was a Cincinnati to Portsmouth trip, all photos were of the eastbound trip. Photo 1 is at NA Tower near Cincinnati, 2 is near Afton, and 3 is in Peebles. This line is the former N&W "Peavine" between Cincinnati and Portsmouth, now mostly railbanked and rusting away east of around Williamsburg. This was a neat line to railfan, with the stately N&W signals, which for me were even better than B&O CPL's. In the early 90's, the Peavine still had several trains each way a day. I also have some horrible VHS footage that I need to get digitized at some point, but it is not very good. Hope you all enjoy.
