Nostalgia & History > Sundown at Gila BendDate: 03/24/19 20:41 Sundown at Gila Bend Author: oyw Just before sundown at Gila Bend, Arizona on the Sunset Route, a hot SP piggyback train looks at a high green as it heads for points east. Best as I can make out, caboose is number 1896 (?). The photo was taken on May 19, 1984 during a fun trip with TO member and good friend "myfordbrowning", where we followed SP 4449 and the Worlds Fair Daylight, among other things. Some classic times for sure!
