A few cars in New Orleans

On the track for the Panama but they were being worked on at the time - sure they were used on that train or the Sunset.
The last car (5407) was an old one - built by Budd in 1940 for the ACL (coach).
I have better views of the other cars but need to scan them.

On another track, 2707 Bradenton was a 10-6 Budd built car.
Built in 1949 for the PRR.

The last photo shows former PRR Pullman "Bradenton"........a Budd product of 1949.  Just a guess, but I think the only Budd Pullmans owned by the Pennsy would be the transcontinental cars carried west of Chicago by the CZ.

The Pennsy's contribution to the CZ was the Budd "Silver Rapids", it later was pulled from the CZ pool and was on the New York to Florida trains and recieved a black roof.  There was a period in the 60s when it was in regular service between St. Petersburg and New York.

The Bradenton was Pennsy's contribution to the Seaboard Air Line's New York - Florida and New York - Atlanta service if I remember correctly.

You certainly help bring the time of the early Amtrak passenger train back.

PRR had 6 of these Budd sleepers built to SAL specs in 1949 for service on SAL Florida trains.  Four of these went to Amtrak.
PRR had fifty 21 roomette "Inn" series sleepers built by Budd in 1949.  These were all converted to coaches circa early 1960's.
The Pennsy also had two flat-sided Budd sleepers built to the same Pullman plan 9503 as the SAL cars and delivered 8-1949.
