Nostalgia & History > Whats this location in the Feather River Canyon?Date: 05/14/19 21:57 Whats this location in the Feather River Canyon? Author: photobob Here's a shot I took of a WP train in the Feather River Canyon in the late 1960's but I have no idea of the location.

I am not intimately familiar with the FRC and I have seen this location but I don't remember outside access to that side of the river and that bridge. Was there outside access at one time? Author: trackplanner Looks like lots of material was dumped over the side to the river there.

Haven't been there for awhile but I believe that is a westbound exiting Tunnel 9 before reaching Poe. There is an abandoned vehicle bridge below this point that crosses the river that uses (what I was told is) a former turntable bridge as the approach span. I've always wondered if that was true (sure looks like one) and if so, where did it come from?

Was there outside access at one time? It looks like a construction access point for the Poe dam diversion tunnel. TAW Date: 05/15/19 11:41 Re: Whats this location in the Feather River Canyon? Exiting tunnel 9. Date: 05/15/19 12:21 Re: Whats this location in the Feather River Canyon? Author: Chico43 Bardee's Bar! That sounds like a good place to stop and go to beans......
