This set of pictures and the Lehigh Valley set of pictures are very interesting. I noticed that several of the cars had a distinctly "sway backed" appearance. How bad would a car with this condition need to get before it is taken out of service?

Not uncommon for gondolas - especially those in steel or scrap service on any railroad.
