Sometimes... - EL 820
Author: refarkas

Sometimes it is the scene with the train and not just the train. EL 820 and 814 have an eastbound trailer train approaching Eastwood Avenue in Akron, Ohio on January 21, 1973. Down in the valley on the right B&O trackage can be seen. With such an interesting location, I'm surprised this Agfachrome slide might be my only image taken there.

Thanks Bob.
What is the track joining the main in front of the power?

I believe it goes to interchange either with the N&W (ex-AC&Y) or B&O.

Excellent capture - looks cold out there! EL Es appear to be well maintained (at least cosmetically) at this late date only 3 years away from C-Day.

TGCostello, that track off to the left was where the Erie, later EL, interchanged with the AC&Y, later N&W. I rode many a switch job down to that area and on the interchange tracks. That location as an interchange wasn't used after Conrail took over as there was an interchange between the Penn Central about 1/2 a mile west of the above photo.
