Author: kak62psu I served as Night General Foreman at West Detroit from Feb. 1969 to August 1971. The sand piles from sander testing had grown to the point of using a front end loader to clear the accumulation and make walking safe again . By this time there were very few FA's left to dispatch. The hottest train to dispatch was BF-7 and rhe Toledo crews always wanted all sanders working . If we got the power off the pit within an hour of call time, no questions asked in the morning call. Over one hour and I had some xplaining to do.
