I had an HO version of your photo #3. May have been a Varney model?
I think that's the first time I've ever seen the prototype.

I would be curious where the first shot was taken.  I'm thinking somewhere in the Twin Cities area.  However, a Hormel car on the Milwaukee
would not be a big deal as Hormel's pant in Austin, MN, was served by the Milwaukee and Chicago Great Western.
