A pair of Santa Fe GP30s are looking pretty spiffy for the annual Topeka RR days. At least that’s what I’m guessing this is by the date “Sept 92” attached to this trader slide. I can’t recall ever seeing a GP30 handling a passenger or business car move during my time working for Santa Fe. Looking kinda cool, if you ask me…

1. AT&SF 2734 & 2753(?) have the full dome + a handful of coaches and other cars at the passenger depot in Topeka, KS on August 1, 1992.

I also don't remember seeing GP30 power on ATSF business car trains.

Another Dan Munson photo of that train at that spot, presumably the same day, appears on page 110 of Kevin EuDaly's Santa Fe 1993-1994 Annual.  The caption gives the date as August 1, 1992.

THat is one beautiful lashup.That paint scheme in pristine condition like that was unmatched! Outstanding image!!

I'm sure it is. Dan let me dig through his large totes FULL of SFe trader slides. Evidently his motor drive was worked pretty hard in those days. He shot all over my home "turf" after I left for Montana, so I gleaned a few dozen slides out of his trader totes. I thank the great yellow god Kodak I had a few dozen original slides of my own for trade, which he picked out. Prevented me from having to dig so deep in my cookie jar... ;^)

So, I get to work on an ex-SF GP30 some of the time I'm on duty for the Washington Eastern Railroad..    Do you by chance have any photos of the ATSF 2722??

She has a different number nowadays, but you can see the 2722 covered up slightly with some yeller paint and it gives away her former number before she came to the Southwestern railroad owned by the Western Group..
