What used to bring the bacon home at one time.

Back many years ago, this little job seen here was what helped the bottom line. Serving customers along the Main Line. This job was a daily job that worked along the ex Pennsy Main Line in Harrisburg Pa. The now NS Fuel Pad would be just off the shot to the right and the original location of the 1073 (107.3) signal.  The industries it served were a collection of different types. Big shipper was American Can, which perhaps explain the scarp car last out. A few distribution warehouses thru here also. Not sure when the track was pulled up but one can still see where it ran. The west end of the track here was about 100 yards or so west. The east end of the track was down behind what is now the US Post Office on N.7th St. D&H Distributing is also close by.

But here is CR SW1 8564 one of three SW1's that were quite common here in the HBG area. Nov 1976.  TFL  Ben
