Looks like they are doing a little switching or something before they depart the fireman hasn’t put the train indicators in. They could also be getting a helper into position. I know they used to have to shove them up to Crest and they appear to be Alturas bound. Or who knows maybe they’re the helper? We may never know but I like photos that make you think!
