Wasn't the line over the mountain embargoed before CORP took over if memory serves me right?

According to a thread from 2008 ( https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,1613606,1613784 , 16th post), the SP closed the Siskiyou line south of Ashland in 1992.

Thanks John, so there were actually two different last week's of operation on the Siskiyou line. One south of Ashland and one south of Springfield Jct/Eugene.

Seems to me they had two different 'embargoes' on the Siskiyou Line south of Ashland. We were also getting photos of the trains turning and heading towards Klamath Falls and the Modoc Line, which makes me think the SP shut it down and the Anschutz SP shut it down at seperate times.

It seems like one of those untold stories, but some key dates leading to Budget tightning would have been the failed ATSF/SP merger in 1986, Anschutz taking over 1988 to 1996 and the UPrr merger September 1996. the Modoc was also open and closed during those years, Anschutz seemed to like the Modoc for Rio Grande to Coos Bay traffic, bypassing Donner and Roseville and some mountains at the same time. Suppose I should have taken better notes.

+  In the Winter 2019 Trainline Signor lists a closure date of August 2, 1991.
