Happy birthday Scooby.  At least one T.O. subscriber remembered with F shots.  Maybe an E or two will surface as well.

Happy Birthday.  Just for the record, the Western Maryland with Chessie System number 7163 was originally WM 65 and was one of the last F units to be traded in and that was in 1980 after it operated on a couple of Excursion Train trips.

Since you started a thread (thank you), here's my offering:

Amtrak 210 leading what I believe to be the James Whitcomb Rilery on Sept 22 1974. Just south of Alexandria VA. Leader is ex-B&O 1463 if the interweb is correct.

No KCS - sorry.

Happy Birthday!

I've not see an F-unit missing a chunk of the side grill like the one in the first photo.   I wonder how it managed to end up like that.

The B&O EA/EB led train at Harpers Ferry sure looks sharp in that photo.   That was a fine looking train and must have made a great impression to someone who had never seen anything but steam powered heavyweight trains.

Happy Birthday! Here are two grab shots from the westbound San Francisco Zephyr leaving Chicago, July 1976. These are definitely not great photos, but they are the only pictures of working E-units that I've ever taken.
