.   .   .   Westbound meets eastbound near the "natural crossover" at Frost, CA in summer '79. During this time Santa Fe had a number of N&W units on lease. This is where Santa Fe used the topography to change the north track to the south track and vice versa for the run up and over Cajon Pass when the line was double track instead of todays two track CTC line. Just ahead of the train in foreground the north main, which he is on, crosses over the south main, which the train in the distance is on becoming the opposite mains. Confused? This could be very confusing when a track restriction over lapped the over pass where the South main became the North main.
