First one of it passing through San Bernardino, next two taken at Blue Cut in Cajon Pass. Date: 08/12/19 21:50 Re: The Super C San Berdoo to Barstow + misc power Barstow shops Author: GreenFlag First photo is of the Super C passing the east end of Barstow Yard.
Second is of Bicentennial 5702 at the shops. Third misc power with the 5579, 2544, RCE 33 & 10, 5929, 3282 and AMT501 Date: 08/12/19 21:54 Re: The Super C San Berdoo to Barstow + misc power Barstow shops Author: GreenFlag First photo is of a couple of steam generator cars, 138 & 140
Photos two and three are of a couple of the many stored SD24s at that time in Barstow. According to some of my notes from the time, the F45s had recently been returned to service after storage in Barstow Date: 08/12/19 21:57 Re: The Super C San Berdoo to Barstow + misc power Barstow shops Author: GreenFlag First photo is of FP45 5941
Second the "class" FP45 5900 Last SDP40F 501 These were all taken on the same day on 10-26-75 Date: 08/12/19 22:10 Re: The Super C San Berdoo to Barstow + misc power Barstow shops Author: DynamicBrake Greenflag,
Thanks for sharing a really nice series. The 5701/02 sure stand out in their surroundings. Really like that Barstow Yard shot too. As far as I know, it was the only Santa Fe EMD cowl to get a blue-outlined-yellow noseband in the blue and yellow warbonnet scheme. The GE U30CG's all got "hollow" nosebands initially, but the FP45's and F45's pretty much went straight to solid blue nosebands except for 5941. Dig that different nose band herald on the 5941!

By April 1976 many of those SD24's were still stored at Barstow (stored due to the 1975 recession). Everything else had been put back into service. Allen Posted from Android Date: 08/13/19 16:47 Re: The Super C San Berdoo to Barstow + misc power Barstow shops Author: Ritzville Very NICE series!!
