Espee's San Bernardino Local on the Old PE
Author: Korigaoka1811

Over time  some folks have posted photos of this operation here on TO and, as an old "San Bernardino Boy", I've much apprecieted them.  Here are two contibutions of my own.

1 --  An SW1500 switching Levitz Furniture across from Inland Center Mall in 1978.

2 --  In 1977 I caught the local with a Cotton Belt GP20 getting ready to cross Mill Street while headed to what was left of the old PE yard.

Levitz (Furniture) used to be a decent rail customer, I remember the store in Fresno also being a frequent
recipient of cars from the East.

In January 1978, I caught the SSW4141 working a local in the San Berdoo area but I don't remember the exact location. Anyone recognize the area?-BMT

Looks like Inland Center mall in the background. So close to Levitz.  Wag (former San Berdoo guy)

Agreed.

And I have a picture of 1077 on the local too, but one of very poor quality in my case.

Thank you. Memory is fading from 40 plus years ago.-BMT
