PRR over Moodna Viaduct
Author: train1275

An image almost forgotten until pulled out of a little yellow box.

PRR E-units eastbound over Moodna Viaduct returning from some sort of Rail Fest in Port Jervis. I think this was September 27, 1987 but can't be sure.

Visited Port Jervis and then headed out to make this catch.

I've seen many photos on Moodna including the ones I've taken in my few times there but never from that angle.  Great eye and great shot!

Your choice of location from which to photograph makes this truly special.

Based upon the date and equipment, it looks to me like PRR #5706 & PRR #5898 and ex-EL MU Cars then owned by the Blue Mountain & Readimg.
Classic photo.  Thanks for the nice posting.

This was in fact part of the Hoboken Railfest in 1987. The BM&R 2102 ran this trip west from Hoboken to Port Jervis and their PRR E8s brought the train back to Hoboken. Nice shot ! I took this shot showing part of the photo line from the train as we crossed Moonda.
