Nostalgia & History > Questions 3, Lehigh ValleyDate: 10/09/19 21:55 Questions 3, Lehigh Valley Author: MartyBernard I need location and an ID of the first locomotive which looks to be a 2-8-2 but I can find no 4026 on the LV roster. Other info would be great.
Lehigh Valley Railroad steam locomotives 4026 and 4-8-4 T-2b 5219 with a 57 car freight train, location unrecorded, on May 30, 1947. Photographed by Donald W. LV 4026 is a 2-10-2 that was probably a head-end helper added out of Lehighton for the trip up the mountain. LV had a total of 76 Class R-1 2-10-2s all built by Baldwin. 4000-4039 built 1917 and 4040-4075 built 1919.
