Nostalgia & History > Questions 2, Lehigh Valley

I have almost no information on this train.  Any help welcomed.  The closest locomotive looks like a 2-8-2 and the number on the cab looks like a 4000 series, which Lehigh didn't have.  The railroad did have Mikados in the 400 series.

Pushers on an Ore Train most likely coming up from Mount Carmel,PA.where the PRR handed these trains off to the LV. This Ore was consigned to the Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem,PA. I would guess that this is on the grade near Diamondtown,PA.  Looks like 3 -  4000 series Class R-1  2-10-2s.  What a fantastic shot !

There is a great book recently published concerning these very ore trains. I don't recall seeing any photos of the then common use of 3 big 2-10-2s shoving the coal up from Mount Carmel! What a fantastic photo.
