Kent in CArmel Valley Date: 11/07/19 17:01 Re: Forty Plus Years Ago (27) - Clinchfield Author: refarkas It was pointed out to me that the greenery is too green for January. There was no date given, so I used the processing date. Most likely this was photographed in 1973. I changed from January 1974 to sometime in 1973.

I count myself very lucky that I got to ride it end-to-end on an excursion, one of the most unique and memorable trips I've ever taken, anywhere. Saw quite a few of such SD's. All were as grimy with coal dust and general road grime as could be, just like this one. Showing that they earned their keep and got the job done? You bet!
Thanks for sharing a classic. Date: 11/07/19 18:40 Re: Forty Plus Years Ago (27) - Clinchfield Author: krm152 Very nice roster photo. CRR certainly worked their units hard and did not worry about the grime.
Thanks for posting this photo from one of my favorite roads. ALLEN |
