AMtrak photo where is it

Team,

I have reviewed my travel log of every commerical lfight I have ever taken.   In the summer of 1978,  I was in Pittsburgh and the Norfolk/Newport News area.  I was living in Savannah, GA and may have traded this photo with someone else.

Any suggestions.

The train is on the ICG (ex GM&O) at 21st Street in Chicago. This location had many names depending on what railroad you were on.

Definitely not 21st Street http://www.railfanguides.us/il/chicago/interlocking/CHICAGOalton_jct.gif

The power switches and curvature don't match anywhere I can think of in Chicago. Certainly not Bridgeport, Corwith, LeMoyne (Nerska) or Argo.

Yes, would be the Lone Star with pig-tailed SDP40Fs, baggage, sleeping car, diner, two Houston Hi-Level coaches, and one Dallas Hi-Level coach.

In bound just west of Ft. Wayne Junction or if you prefer 21st street or Alton Junction.
Just west of the curve onto South Branch bridge.

Now I see that it is. Somebody went and stole all the railroad tracks I was expecting to see on the left side.
