Nostalgia & History > CNW Snow Plow----ready for action!Date: 12/01/19 17:10 CNW Snow Plow----ready for action! Author: ghemr I caught this snow plow fresh out of the paint shop at CNW's California Ave. Coach Yard in a warmer month of 1979. Earlier that year (in January) us Chicagoans dealt with The Blizzard of '79. No doubt the CNW was planning for the following winter.........

Unfortunately, it was in the shadows when I saw it on 4/20/1980. Double Track Wedge Plow CNW X263000 built from RSD-5 #1684 Thanks for the interesting post. ALLEN Date: 12/01/19 18:50 Re: CNW Snow Plow----ready for action! Author: refarkas Unique catch!

> I hope more photos turn up of this classic. The thing still exists. It was stored on the Boone & Scenic Valley at Boone, IA for a while, but at last report had been repainted for service on Iowa Northern as their 77. UP reportedly didn't want to move it for a while, but eventually some arrangement was worked out: https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,1891641,1891641#1891641 https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4148781,4149068#4149068 https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4616136 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxOohYnP1zk https://www.flickr.com/photos/142313601@N03/46705580812/ http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=5074767 Date: 12/03/19 00:18 Re: CNW Snow Plow----ready for action! I was in Boone with the C&NW for a month in 1992 but did not see it there. If it was and I missed it, I will be kicking myself for a long time. The new paint job really looks sharp. Date: 12/03/19 01:27 Re: CNW Snow Plow----ready for action! Author: Evan_Werkema Seventyfive Wrote:

I saw it there in 1995, and valmont saw it there in 1988, but I can't guarantee it was there in 1992. https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,4434539,4434690#4434690 |
