Might have to turn your head a little to see this. But it's a brass EMC builders plate for a truck frame. It measures about 8"x3" and was found in my collection of weird stuff. It was made in 7-1941, and it's stamped S-490. Does anyone know if there is a way to figure out what type of truck this was on by the date and serial number ? Was it from an FT, E unit, or a switcher ? Hope someone has some info.

Here is another pre-war EMC plate that I shot belonging to Duluth & Northeastern SW-1 #33. This loco was originally EJ&E #241 with a build date of 10/9/41. I shot this unit at Cloquet,MN. on 9/11/90. Looks like EMC made some changes to their plates by the end of 1941. I'm sure that someone on TO will be able to tell you what unit this came from. They are great looking plates.

Doubt it was on an FT truck. The FT truck I have seen has a small stainless steel plate mounted on it.
