Santa Fe Bicentennial 5702 in Cleburne
Author: gcm

Oct 76

At the Santa Fe Cleburne,Tx shops/yards a northbound freight was passing through with Bicentennial SD45-2 5702 as the last engine.
The switcher on the left may be SW9 1436.

Santa Fe's choice of an SD45-2 for their Bicent unit was great; love the 20 Cycl EMD units.
The badge on the side shown in your photo was a very nice feature.
Thanks for the photo posting.

Yes, Bob Foster, a Middle Div. engineer from Emporia had a left and right set off 5700, If I remember correctly, He passed about 6 months ago, and I think his stuff will be going to auction eventually.

Super C train? I know those units were targetted for the C but I thought usually in front.

Great catch and thank you for sharing.

The Super C train operated between Chicago and Los Angeles, not through Cleburne.
