Nostalgia & History > A Day at Phoenixville, PA 1973Date: 01/07/20 13:13 A Day at Phoenixville, PA 1973 Author: RDG630 Date: 01/07/20 13:42 Re: A Day at Phoenixville, PA 1973 Author: King_Coal Very nice trio. I like the view in number 2 showing the small Phoenixville yard. Not long for the world with hardly a trace left.

Really like those signals. Gary Date: 01/07/20 14:32 Re: A Day at Phoenixville, PA 1973 Author: icancmp193 In April 1973, we decided to take a break from Allentown-Bethlehem Reading action and went down to the Reading main line at Pottstown, which is just west of Phoenixville. There was quite a bit of action and we were not disappointed!

The passenger station (not pictured) is a caterer and restuarant, the Phoenix Bridge and Iron property in the background is Condos and Luxury apartments, there is a single main track (NS Harrisburg Line) where the RDCs were and a high speed switch from single to double track about where the three diesels are sitting in the 2nd picture. The Chester Springs Branch curving off in the first picture and small yard with the caboose went away about 20 years ago. VFPNSFAN posts a lot of NS on the Eastern Board from Perkiomen Junction about two miles east of this spot. 20 years ago you could see Conrail, CSX and D&H (CP Rail) trains, only NS today.
