Nostalgia & History > BNSF Galer St Seattle 2001 including LRCX C30-7Date: 01/07/20 10:03 BNSF Galer St Seattle 2001 including LRCX C30-7 Author: RRTom The Galer Street grade crossing was north of the downtown Seattle tunnel and just south of Balmer yard. It was a good place to find BNSF action. These shots from 2001 show a northbound train past Galer Street and entering the yard. The second unit was an LRCX leaser. The train had a five-pack of double stacks followed by mixed freight.
The bridge is the Magnolia viaduct. A roadway bridge was later constructed over the tracks at Galer Street but it wasn't a true grade separation as the grade crossing remained underneath the new bridge, I think for truck access to the port/industrial area. The grade crossing has since been removed. 1 - BNSF lead engine 2 & 3 - LRCX C30-7 Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 01/07/20 10:09 by RRTom.
