Really nice photos of a rare location. By the time I got up there in '91, it was either abandoned or 100% BN green.

The first picture is right where this https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,2066575,2066629#msg-2066629 Date: 11/28/09 21:40 Re: "How are we going to explain this?" Author: TAW occurred. When I got down there from the station, the engine and caboose were sitting just about there, but the caboose was not in as good a condition as the one shown. The crew told me they made a hard joint and did some damage. I expected broken windows and stuff strewn around the inside. Looking at the picture, a vivid recollection of standing right there looking at the totally incredible sight came to mind.

A rare Milwaukee coupola caboose.

Dim memory of it was wood because of the splintered wood of the cupola, but that is the ill-fated caboose. It must have been metal-sheathed wood. It was rare before the yard crew made that move. Then it was extinct.
