Don't remember, but it looks like somebody we know on the 7324 in his butler's uniform.

The cars must have been from the Ski train.

This was the deadhead/excursion move to LA in preparation the northbound (Espee westbound) Earth Train.

I can't identify the guy standing on the 7324, but I believe that was myownself in the engineers seat. When I wasn't there, I was busily sniffing around Anschutz's private cars.
They were nothing short of unbelievable!

IIRC, Mr. 4360 and I rode a good portion of the trip north in the cab of the 9611!

Good times, never, ever to be repeated...

BTW, sweet video!

Your awesome video downloads and/or plays just fine on my computer! I have never seen this video so it was a thrill to watch it - with the Baldwin P-8 Pacific SP 2472; which I rode in the cab of from the Mission Bay Roundhouse's turntable to the sanding/service area at 7th and Townsend Sts when I was but 6 years old (hence my handle) leading the deadhead move.

Great video, thanks for posting. Indeed, most of the cars were from the Rio Grande Denver to Winter Park (Colorado) Ski Train. Always good to see the Rio Grande scheme, no matter where it was. The last three cars, in Rio Grande paint, with SP lettering, are now on the Grand Canyon Railway in charter service.

Thanks again for the great video.

Very enjoyable video, great job of video work originally, and then your digital transfer work is fine! (A very time consuming and frustration filled process sometimes, then after you get good results on your own equipment, it may turn out different looking on other viewing devices, especially after a website's servers get done processing it, and maybe even altering it a bit, to fit thier own requirements)!!!!

Love that SP2472, just a superb restoration of a wonderful and very loveable little steam engine all the way around. You can hear that bell a mile away, and the stack talk is very prominent, love that departure scene in your video, after 2472 pulls up to a stop right in front of your camera!

I caught the SP Earth Train (RG Ski Train) deadheading west in Northern Nevada on 9-9-1992, heading for California, not sure if this was the same Month/Year as your video or not? Not sure if SP did this Earth Train only once, or for several years?

Here's the link to my video from 1992:

But might help put a date to your video if it's the same event.

Seems there were a monkey or two at every open window and on the rear end, it was a monkey parade!!!
