Nostalgia & History > One of My All-Time Fave Colour SchemesDate: 01/20/20 13:19 One of My All-Time Fave Colour Schemes Author: BoilingMan I really liked the PGE/BCR two tone green scheme. I understood BC's rationale for changing everything to RW&B to reflect continuity of Provencal services, but still... come on! This was green scheme was really good!
SR Pacific Great Eastern MLW RS-18 626 along with MLW RS-27 Demo/Lease unit 676. I caught this in the spring of 1974, but I'm not sure exactly where- Lillooet, BC would be a good guess. SR Do you know about these lease units? Like: how many were there, and how long were they on the BCR? Date: 01/20/20 15:00 Re: One of My All-Time Fave Colour Schemes Author: BCR_766 There were a few lease units on the BCR, there were only 2 of the MLW RS27's #675 & #676 which served on the PGE for a short time.

When I scanned the slide and saw the trailing 676, I figured, Oh great- what the heck is that?! But I looked in my old beat up copy of Don Lewis' Rail Canada book- and there it was! The 626 with the 675. SR Date: 01/20/20 19:17 Re: One of My All-Time Fave Colour Schemes Author: railstiesballast Yes a very appropriate colour scheme. A near cousin to the Northern Pacific Raymond Lowery two tone green.
