I think that's Dale Adams doing the hand-up. He loved roses, as you can see from his little "garden" in front of the station. Date: 01/25/20 19:36 Re: Amtraks Pioneer at Vancouver Washington late 1980;s Author: alally8444 My old Amtrak schedule shows there was a Seattle-Salt Lake City sleeper, although the rest of the train hung a left at Ogden 30 miles from there, where it combined with the City of San Francisco. Was that single-level car right behind the locomotive that car? I rode the Pioneer in 1993, but I slept right throught Ogden so I didn't see what switching activity went on there. Was there a dedicated Amtrak engine that just shuttled that car between Ogden & SLC?
