Nostalgia & History > View From the Caboose (Delaware and Hudson)Date: 01/25/20 14:08 View From the Caboose (Delaware and Hudson) Author: aehouse It's September 1970, and I'm the flagman on Delaware and Hudson's Binghamton-Mechanicville N.Y. train BM-5. We've just dropped the Belden Hill pusher that gave us an assist up from Bevier Street yard in Binghamton. (My photo).

The initial post says the pusher in the picture has just been dropped, presumably without stopping the rest of the train. There's several ways this can be done, with air cut in and not cut in. -LD Date: 01/25/20 21:58 Re: View From the Caboose (Delaware and Hudson) Author: tgcostello Great photo, Art.
Was that just a single RS11 providing the assist? I've seen photos with 3-4 locos pushing up Belden Hill. Yours must have been a well powered train. Tim Costello |
