Nostalgia & History > T55: View and railroad both gone

This view of a NB SF freight from 1996 is gone, due both to hwy construction and restriction from the railroad, and of course our beloved SF is gone one year earlier. Was it really 25 years ago?!  JG

Sadly yes, I'm afraid it was 25 years ago. Those were know doubt the good ole days! Case in point, that second unit in your photo! You just don't see ANY variety anymore. Not only are tower 55 and the Santa Fe gone, but so is railroading as I knew it. I'm 60 years old now and don't find it so hard anymore to talk myself OUT of making a trip to Fort Worth!

You're so right! When I lived in FW just a few years ago I rarely railfanned anymore cause of memories like this. To NOT go to FW or not go out living there years ago would've been unheard of! JG
