Sixty Saturday: DRGW/SP

Here's three shots of the same train led by 4 GP60s, 2 each Grande and SP. Train is westbound through Fraser and further west in the early 90s. Were the DRGW GP60s the last new power purchased by the Grande? JG

They were the last new DRGW power built to SP/SSW specs and as an add-on to an SP order.

Very appropriate to see that WP boxcar on D&RGW rails--as the founders intended.

First or second 87 in the morning with Coors beer on the headend.  Great days.  BSB

I thought the Rio Grande GP-60's were payment from Conrail for totaling two Rio Grande engines. Am I wrong?
