Three Fallen Flags
Author: WrongMain

We'll start with a southbound Missouri Pacific freight, led by SD40 3035 in October, 1977 in Chicago Heights, IL

Next up is a westbound Santa Fe intermodal with a C30-7, the 8026, rolling through Lockport, IL back in June of 1980.

Finally, I shot this Conrail SD40-2 while on duty at North Harvey tower in Blue Island, IL.  He's headed west, passing the Indiana Harbor Belt's Blue Island yard with a Harbor crew aboard.  The train is about to cross the B&OCT's Chicago Heights Sub.  May of 1981.

Well done. Image one has a 3-D appearance to it.

Enjoy your photos.  Nice to see action at North Harvey again. I remember our only pipeline switch, 19-L21 very well.
In a few days I might add a little story about that switch in Railroaders' Nostalgia on this site.

You're right, good old 19L, one of the hardest to throw, about as tough as the crossovers at Argo on the IHB.

Nice trio of photos. If you wanted to scrap away the blue paint on that Conrail 6289 you could find two more fallen flags- it was CNJ 3065 and B&O 7486 before that.
