Nostalgia & History > Three Fallen FlagsDate: 02/04/20 19:26 Three Fallen Flags Author: WrongMain We'll start with a southbound Missouri Pacific freight, led by SD40 3035 in October, 1977 in Chicago Heights, IL
Next up is a westbound Santa Fe intermodal with a C30-7, the 8026, rolling through Lockport, IL back in June of 1980. Finally, I shot this Conrail SD40-2 while on duty at North Harvey tower in Blue Island, IL. He's headed west, passing the Indiana Harbor Belt's Blue Island yard with a Harbor crew aboard. The train is about to cross the B&OCT's Chicago Heights Sub. May of 1981. Date: 02/04/20 20:11 Re: Three Fallen Flags Author: ghemr Great photos! Check out those hump signals in photo 3....

Blob Date: 02/05/20 05:16 Re: Three Fallen Flags Author: gcm Very nice !
Really like the Santa Fe shot on the curve. Gary Date: 02/05/20 09:52 Re: Three Fallen Flags Author: Seventyfive Enjoy your photos. Nice to see action at North Harvey again. I remember our only pipeline switch, 19-L21 very well.
In a few days I might add a little story about that switch in Railroaders' Nostalgia on this site. Date: 02/05/20 10:03 Re: Three Fallen Flags Author: WrongMain Seventyfive Wrote:

You're right, good old 19L, one of the hardest to throw, about as tough as the crossovers at Argo on the IHB. Date: 02/05/20 13:40 Re: Three Fallen Flags Author: EL833 Nice trio of photos. If you wanted to scrap away the blue paint on that Conrail 6289 you could find two more fallen flags- it was CNJ 3065 and B&O 7486 before that.
