GTW departing Chicago
Author: ghemr

After Grand Trunk Western closed their Elsdon Yard in Chicago, they mostly originated/terminated their trains at BRC's huge Clearing Yard. Here's one at Hayford Jct.  departing with two ex DT&I locomotives....

GP40-2 6406 former DTI 406----gong bell removed from the nose
GP38-2 6227 former DTI 227

Great collection of fallen flags - Identifiable are GTW, DT&I, Detroit and Macinac, BN, and Santa Fe.

Nice pic! Hard to believe that’s in Chicago and not a rural Michigan location.
