Found me hiking through the woods near Bloomsbury (NJ) to check out an area known as Pine Hollow. It is located along what is now known referred to NS's Lehigh Line between the towns of Alpha and Bloomsbury. I still recall it wasn't an easy place to get to considering the amount of briars that I had to pick my way through. However my efforts were rewarded with this image of CR's PIOI heading east on a sunny morning. The power consist was CR 6981, CR 6983 and an unidentified third CR diesel. CR 6981 (SD40-2R) was CR's "United Way" unit when it was CR 6288. CR 6981's heritage  also included service as CNJ 3064, B&O 7485 and now works as CSX 8878. Regarding its trailing partner 6983, its heritage shows as CR 6346, PC 6093, PRR 6093 and currently is showing as CSX 8879. I might add that back then it was a sunny winter's day which made being trackside enjoyable, something that it is not here in central NJ today.

Very well composed shot! I love the slight down-on look. And no ditch lights, no PTC barnicles growing off the cab roof. A simple, yet elegant piece of history here...

Surprised I haven't run into you in my travels.  Presently in Union County
but looking to move to Pattenburg/Milford/Holland Township area. I'm in
Westfield not far from Lehigh valley Line.
