Nostalgia & History > Crawford hill 1984.Date: 02/11/20 10:03 Crawford hill 1984. Author: hank A southbound coal train with helpers near the top of Crawford hill near Belmont, Nebraska June 16, 1984. It takes about 6 minutes for it to pass my location. At Belmont we see two tries to drop the caboose to the rear of the train.

Andy Date: 02/12/20 07:53 Re: Crawford hill 1984. Author: ntharalson Good catch! Two U30C's in the main consist, getting rarer by then, and three C30-7's as the helpers. Usually rated four 3000hp units,
and I only saw SD40-2's in that service. Thanks for posting. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 02/13/20 01:59 Re: Crawford hill 1984. Author: SD40T-2 So frikkin' awesome. One of those great moments that I'm sure you feel lucky to have been there to witness...
